Pete McCulagh his Filipino wife Mercy and their two children, live off Pete’s Naval Pension, they built a modest 4 bedroom house in Timingdad, just a 5 mins ride from Odiongan Town, they heva spent a couple of years making additions on the property and now have 2 guest cottages, nice lush gardens, love bird aviary, BBQ and eating area, with a nice sized bar and resto in the process. As Pete quotes, Who could do this in USA with there pension, and live on $1,000 a month like a king, well we do, and thats what having an affordable Eco-Lifestyle on an Island Can do to make life sweet for you. Their son goes to a Private School here, while their daughter is in the process of graduating from Romblon State University, to take up her Doctorate in England when she has qualified all of her studys.
All this was possible with just Pete’s Pension from The American Navy, so now all of his hard work in the Navy paid off, and now they have an ideal retirement, with an Income coming from their resort on the Beach.
Chris Bech and Pete McCulagh are best of friends, they often take boat rides to Boracay Island, have drinking party’s together, and share there eco-living lifestyle tips with each other. Pete also plans to make his own retirement community one day, and has purchased a 10 Hectares land package from Chris Bech and his wife Theresa Bech.
